This kit helps integrator's write TWAIN enabled applications for the Kodak Alaris Inc. document scanners.

The TWAIN directory contains items of importance downloaded from the TWAIN Working Group website; we encourage you to go to the website (http://www.twain.org) to check for any updates to this information.

The KODAK directory contains information specific to the Kodak Alaris Inc. document scanners, including custom features exposed through the TWAIN interface.  It also describes ways to help develop and diagnose applications using the Kodak Alaris Inc. TWAIN drivers.

The WIA directory contains information on the custom properties exposed by the Kodak Alaris Inc. WIA driver. It also contains instructions for enabling debugging of the WIA driver; to assist in diagnosing applications that use the Kodak Alaris Inc. WIA driver.

The SANE directory contains information specific to the SANE driver for the Kodak Alaris Inc. document scanners

The samples directory contains sample code for interacting with the Kodak Alaris Inc. document scanner TWAIN drivers.

Quick Start Information

There is no particular order to this information.  It’s just some commonly needed items to help integrators get their bearings in all the information in the kit.

1) There is a LINKS.HTM file in the KODAK directory that points to download and support resources.  Go here if you need to find the latest drivers or diagnostic tools.

2) The FAQ.HTM file in the KODAK directory contains useful information about the Kodak Alaris Inc. TWAIN driver.  Go here for information about turning on driver logging or the driver’s scanner simulator.

3) Some features in the driver are only accessible through the Scanner Validation Tool (SVT) if a license is entered into the application.  If you are diagnosing what you believe to be a scanner problem (as opposed to a driver or application problem) then please contact Kodak Alaris Inc. for a license key.
